What are Auto-Clickers?

Auto-Clickers are a software or hardware tool that keeps a user automatically clicking rather than manually clicking. An auto-clicker can be downloaded from a third-party and set up to click for you, or it can be a feature on a multi-functional mouse. In Adopt Me, an auto-clicker is simply used to keep a user in the game, as Roblox will remove a user from an experience after 20 minutes of inactivity. Auto-clickers may be useful for other Roblox experiences, such as many simulators requiring you to constantly click to collect or grow power. Adopt Me has no such functions where constant clicking in one spot is required, so its only use is for keeping someone in the game. Some Auto-Clickers provide more functionality, such as remembering patterns of clicking, so this can be useful for being AFK and allowing the auto-clicker to complete ailments, however, the risk of it clicking on something unwanted is still the same.

What is wrong with using them?

With there being multiple things that can pop up on screen in Adopt Me at any one time, there is a high risk of your auto-clicker clicking on something it shouldn’t. Sometimes, the outcome isn’t so bad, for example, a user could have invited you to a party, and your auto-clicker pressed accept. Maybe you didn’t want to join that party, but it is not the end of the world, right? However, if someone were to stand in the wrong place at the wrong time, in one fell swoop, your auto clicker could very easily be hovering over the user, click on “Give Item”, click on “From Backpack”, click on an item, and click “Yes” in answer to “Are you sure you want to give {user} your {item}?“. And bam, your item is gone. Now, that isn’t desired, is it?

With the risk of your auto-clicker making a grave mistake, such as giving a cherished item away, their purpose within Adopt Me certainly doesn’t outweigh the risks. Keep in mind that its’ only purpose is to click to make it look like you’re active in the game; however, being active within the game isn’t rewarding. Unlike some experiences where staying in the game gives an added benefit, being AFK within Adopt Me serves no rewards. With this being the case, I don’t know about you, but I would much rather be kicked from the game every 20 minutes than risk losing my pet.

What is Adopt Me’s stance on Auto-Clickers?

We do not endorse using them and actively encourage you not to use them within Adopt Me, especially because there’s no necessity for their use.

We stand with Roblox’s guidance, which states that it does not officially endorse any third-party programs, nor can it guarantee full functionality with the Roblox site, Client, or Studio.

The use of third-party programs is at the user’s own discretion and risk, and as such, Roblox cannot assist with issues caused by or related to such programs.

We follow the same sentiment: we do not endorse auto-clickers because they are from third-party, we cannot control its’ behaviours and their use is made at your discretion, and you are accountable for any mistakes it may make.

Will Adopt Me recover mistakes as a result of my Auto-Clicker?

Since we do not endorse Auto-Clickers, we will be unable to assist in any auto-clicker-related incidents, such as a pet mistakenly being given away, and therefore, your items will not be recovered. With this in mind, please consider the risks involved with using an auto-clicker in Adopt Me before implementing it in game.

How can I avoid accidents with Auto-Clickers?

The best way to avoid an incident involving an auto-clicker is not to use one altogether. However, if you insist on continuing to use it, there are a couple of things to keep in mind:
  • Please avoid using it in a public server, as of course, you can’t accidentally give items away if there is no one around to give items to.
  • Please keep your cursor on an area of the screen where it is less likely to be intercepted by a notification or any clickable button.
  • Only turn on the auto-clicker if you feel you will be away from your screen for over 20 minutes.
  • Set your auto-clicker to only click in long, infrequent intervals, such as one click every 15 minutes.
  • If you’re using your auto-clicker to complete tasks, and you’re in a public server, make sure to lock your house.
