What is house trading?

House trading is just what it sounds like- trading an Adopt Me! house in exchange for other Adopt Me! items.

What houses can be traded?

Any house within Adopt Me! can be traded except for the VIP house.

How do I trade a house?

To trade a house, approach the mailbox in front of your house and select the Trade House option. Once you've done this, a FOR TRADE sign will appear in front of your house.

TradeHouseSign

Whenever you see a FOR TRADE sign, you can interact with it in order to tour the house, seeing the furniture and expansions that are inside of it.

Once someone has toured the house and wants to trade for it, they can send you a trade request from inside of the house and trade will proceed as normal.

If both players accept the trade, then your house will be given to the other player and you'll be switched to another one of your owned houses.

I cannot trade my house. Why?

If you only own one house, you will not be able to trade until you own a second house. You are also unable to trade the VIP house.

Will the furniture stay in the house when it is traded?

Yes, all furniture that was previously in the house will stay whenever it has been traded. This furniture will have no Bucks value, however.

What can I trade for a house?

Anything that would normally go in the Adopt Me! trade window can be traded for a house, including but not limited to:

  • Pets
  • Toys
  • Food
  • Vehicles
  • Pet Accessories

The only item that cannot be traded for a house is another house.

I'm not getting any Bucks by selling furniture in the house I traded for. Why?

Like with buying a new house in Adopt Me!, trading for a house will make it so any furniture placed within it will give no bucks when selling it. Any new furniture you place will sell as normal.

Can I trade houses using the trading stand?

No, putting your house on your trading stand is impossible. Two factors prevent this. Firstly, your house is not accessible in your inventory, and your trading stand works by selecting items from your inventory, so this is not functional. To trade for someone's house, you must be standing inside it, enabling you to view it to determine that this is the house for you. You cannot view houses from within the trading stand; therefore, you will not know what you are trading for.

Why can't I remove my house from the trade window?

To prevent users from trying to back out of trades, for example, in an attempt to modify the house, players cannot remove their house from the trading window. The trade will be cancelled immediately if the current homeowner attempts to make any changes. Therefore, the person trading for the house can be at peace knowing they'll receive exactly what they see.

How many houses can I trade at one time?

Only one house can be traded, as this requires the recipient of the house to be inside and have physically viewed the property.

Is there a way to see who initially created a house?

No, there is no system or watermark on the house to find the original owner. While we understand that players will trade for pre-decorated houses for ease purposes, and others would like to find who designed it, because players can adapt upon their house once they own it, it would be unfair for the original creator to receive any extra credit for additional work that might not be theirs. Players may also decide to flip a house later down the line completely, and it may not be the original owner's work.

Do I need a trade license to trade a house?

As with all trades, this house trade pops up in the trade window, and you will need your trading license to access it.

What will happen to my Cozy Home Lure?

If you have a Robux purchasable Cozy Home Lure placed down in the house you're looking to trade, when you go to trade your house you will be notified that the lure will be removed. If you continue to list it, your lure will be automatically removed.

What will happen to my Build With Friends Stand?

If you have a Build With Friends stand placed down in the house you're looking to trade, when you go to trade your house you will be notified that the stand will be removed. If you continue to list it, your stand will be automatically removed and any budget within the stand will be refunded back to your account.

Will I get bucks for selling a house I've traded for?

Just like selling furniture within the house you've traded for, you will not get any bucks for selling a property you've traded for.

Can I sell a Robux house that I've traded for?

No, as with all houses purchasable with Robux, these cannot be sold regardless of whether you traded for them.

What happens to a pet display with pets on?

Trying to trade for a house with a pet display is like buying a remote-controlled race car where it tells you the batteries are sold separately. When you view a house, the stand will tell you that the items are not included. If you want the item that was on display, you must trade for that individually.
